A statewide Democratic bus tour kicked off today in Erie, with speakers blasting the GOP's Romney-Ryan ticket.
Pennsylvania Democratic Chairman Jim Burn joined local Democrats praising the Obama administration for what they say is strong support for the middle class.
The backdrop was a construction site for new affordable housing along Parade Street. Speakers said Republican policies on taxes, Medicare , and other programs would hurt the middle class.
Burn said, "We believe the platform the GOP will be unveiling this week at their convention is one that favors the 1%, the millionaires and billionaires through tax breaks and incentives at the expense of the working middle class."
The bus tour also stopped in Pittsburgh today. In coming days it will visit other cities including Johnstown, Altoona, and Harrisburg.
