Expert testimony took the stand on Tuesday in the murder trial of Kristina Allen.
Allen is accused of shooting and killing her fiance, 27- year- old Dean Haggerty, last August inside their Summit Township mobile home.
Prosecutors put State Police evidence experts, and forensic pathologist Dr. Eric Vey on the stand first, on the second day of the trial.
Dr. Vey called it a clear gunshot wound death, the and said the weapon was fired somewhere between 6 inches and 2 feet away from the victim.
The jury then watched a tape of Allen's statement to police the night of the shooting.
She said she grabbed the gun and accidentally put her finger in the part of the gun where the trigger was.
She said Haggerty got drunk and accused her of cheating, then held her down on the bed and pulled the loaded weapon out of his nightstand.
That's when she says she took it from him, and it went off.
Both sides agree Allen fired the fatal shot, but the jury must decide if it was murder or an accident.
The trial will resume Wednesday morning.
