Body found identified as Linda Gordon Body found identified as Linda Gordon

We have new information to report in the most recent homicide case in Erie, the sixth this year.  Authorities have been looking for answers since a the body of a white female was discovered on the city's east side Friday.

Late Saturday afternoon, Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified the woman as 51-year-old Linda Gordon of Erie. He ruled her death as a homicide, due to multiple stab wounds to her torso.

Gordon's body was discovered Friday morning, in a grassy alley area, between Schaal Avenue and Camphausen Avenue. Both Erie police and the coroner theorize that the murder happened elsewhere and the body was left in the alley area.  The discovery was made after a thunderstorm with a heavy downpour.  Coroner Cook said it appeared the woman had been dead for several hours before her body was found.

Erie police detectives continued to work the case on Saturday.  So far they have not made any arrests.  The victim's parents who live in Pittsburgh have been notified of her murder.
